The mission of Koz’s Kids is to assist the children of our community and to ensure that they receive the resources and services required to meet their fundamental needs.

In 2007, the Reno Rodeo Foundation was approached by the friends and colleagues of Cheryl Kosewicz (1971-2007) to assist them in forming an organization to honor Cheryl's memory.

Cheryl was a woman of many passions. She was a star basketball player with the UNLV Lady Rebels, she boxed, she competed in triathlons.  In her youth, she was a High School Rodeo participant.  In her professional life, Cheryl was a Deputy District Attorney, first in Clark County and then in Washoe County, where she prosecuted sexual abuse cases.

Cheryl's friends and colleagues are endeavoring to capture her spirit in the projects of Koz's Kids which will benefit children who have been placed in emergency protective custody and foster care.

The immediate goals of the Koz's Kids Advisory Board is to assist in fundraising endeavors and the distribution of collected assets to children alleged to have been abused or neglected and receiving services of the Washoe County Department of Social Services.  Koz's Kids is  committed to working in association with the Reno Rodeo Foundation and individuals in the community who share its vision.

The Koz's Kids Advisory Board is currently planning a handful of summer fundraisers to fund specific Koz's Kids projects.  If you'd like to join the Koz's Kids mailing list, please contact us at kozskids@renorodeofoundation.org
