Reno Rodeo Foundation Grants Programs

The Reno Rodeo Foundation Community Grants Program distributes funds into the community by means of financial awards to deserving non-profit service organizations.

The Reno Rodeo Foundation distributes over $100,000 annually to local non-profit organizations.

The Foundation's grant program is a core component of our organization's contribution to the community. Non-profit service agencies that are working to improve the quality of life for northern Nevada residents are invited to apply for funds directly by submitting an application per the guidelines below.

Applications are accepted September - May. Applications received by the 1st of the month will be initially reviewed at that month’s board meeting. Recommendations are made monthly, but grants are awarded quarterly at the April, October, and January meetings. Applicants will be informed of their grant award status following the quarterly meetings, as per this schedule:

  • If you apply in September, you will be notified in October

  • If you apply in October, November or December, you will be notified in January

  • Applications are not accepted during June, July or August

OPTION TWO: RRF Partnership Grant Program

The Reno Rodeo Foundation Partnership Grant program is designed to meet the financial needs of an organization seeking a sponsor or "partner" for a specific project or program.  The requesting organization, by applying for this type of grant, is indicating an interest in working with the Reno Rodeo Foundation to meet the needs of children with extraordinary needs.

Each RRF Partnership Grant is $15,000.  Up to five RRF Partnership Grants are awarded annually.  At the time a grant is approved, the requesting organization receives $7,500.  The remaining $7,500 is held as a matching challenge grant for up to six months and is paid at the time a matching grant is secured by the requesting organization.  Additionally, the requesting organization must agree to the development of a relationship with the Reno Rodeo Foundation and must adhere to specific accountability and reporting standards.

Partnership Grant applications must be received by September 1st or March 1st and are paid in October and April respectively.
